Our Story
The idea began in September 2025 while the founder was studying Spanish at a language institute in Riyadh and discovered language exchange, or intercambio, as a practical approach to learning. Later that year, during a visit to Spain, the founder attended a multilingual gathering in Malaga where people from different cultures and nationalities exchanged languages, stories and experiences in a relaxed café setting.
Inspired by how language exchange had become a valuable meeting point for both local people and visitors in Europe, the founder organised the first language exchange gathering in Riyadh in November 2025. The event attracted residents and visitors from many nationalities. It offered a break from everyday routine through informal conversation, social connection and the opportunity to practise languages naturally with native speakers and fellow learners.
Built for Every Language Learner
Language learners living in countries where their target language is not widely spoken often struggle to find opportunities for face-to-face practice. They may also find it difficult to meet native speakers and other learners who share the same interests.
Speak in Table introduces a different way to learn through informal meetings in public places. Instead of depending on one personal language partner, several people meet across social tables to practise, exchange knowledge and connect with others who share their curiosity and passion for languages.
